Philippians 3:12-14

“12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, Ido not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”.

John 15: 4-8

“4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[b] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so, you will be My disciples.

The key secrets regarding prayer;

  • The place and power of prayer in a Christian life is too little understood, and that there is a revelation knowledge that needs to be revealed to every believer and understood.
  • The more we abide in Him, and grow unto His likeness, the more we will find His life at work in us, and our life becomes what His is, a life that ever pleads and prevails for others.
  • We gain root, strength and receive everything we need through the art of study and praying rightly.
  • Our Heavenly Father waits to hear every prayer of faith, so He can give us whatsoever we will, and whatsoever we ask of Him in Jesus’ name.
  • The Church needs to learn, what God will do for His child who gives himself to believe that his/her prayer will be heard.

Christ as our Life

  • Christ is our life, and He undertakes to be and to do all in us that we need.
  • The disciples who had been with Christ saw Him pray and realized something of the connection between His wondrous life in public, and His secret life of prayer.
  • They believed in Him as a Master in the art of prayer—none could pray like Him. And so, they came to Him with the request, ‘Lord, teach us to pray.’
  •  Jesus never taught His disciples how to preach, only how to pray. He did not speak much of what was needed to preaching better, but spoke much of praying effectively.
  • To know how to speak to God is more than knowing how to speak to man.
  • We don’t need to trust the power of men, but power of God.

Luke 11:1

Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He
ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

Matthew 6:23-26

23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

  • We must understand what it means to pray in spirit and in truth, and to know how we can attain it.
  • Because God is Spirit, we must worship Him in spirit and in Truth.

Matthew 6:5-8

5 “And , you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

Confidence in Prayer

1 John 5:14

14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us when we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask..
