How to receive and embrace the anointing for miracles, signs and wonders

You are listening to:How to receive and embrace the anointing for miracles, signs and wonders

God’s supernatural power is not reserved just for healing evangelists and notable Christian leaders. All Christ-followers already possess this anointing for miracles!

Matthew 17:14-21: Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy

14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” 17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Acts 5:12-16
12 The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade. 13 But no one else dared to join them, even though all the people had high regard for them. 14 Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord – crowds of both men and women. 15 As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. 16 Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.

In this message, we shall learn how to:

  1. Unlock mysteries of the Anointing
  2. Receive and embrace this type of anointing and
  3. Cooperate with Holy Spirit to activate and release the anointing to the people

I believe that the church is now going through an atmospheric shift. What you and I do now will dramatically impact the future, especially as we step into the supernatural connection that makes all the difference in the world!

Signs and wonders are God’s supernatural miraculous power breaking into the natural world of man and doing what is impossible by natural physical laws.

Signs and wonders have a specific purpose in the advancement of the kingdom of God. Those who have believed already know that God is good and that He has an unfailing love for us. Signs, wonders and miracles are mainly for unbelievers. The purpose of these miraculous works is the supernatural physical expression of the goodness and God’s unfailing love to those unbelievers.

First of all, we need to know that the anointing is already inside of us through the Holy Spirit if we are born again according to John 3:16 and 1 Peter 2:9

Unlocking the mysteries of the anointing

Prayer and fasting are major keys that help us to unlock God’s mysterious platforms. There is a uniqueness in every born-again child of God that cannot be understood by a carnal man. God’s unique calling on your life even when you feel left out, overlooked, or misunderstood will cause one to rise above human expectation – it is miraculous in nature. God used Moses as a powerful deliverer. But it was Moses’ mother, Jochebed, who protected, labored, and interceded for him.

The destiny of a nation was miraculously inside a mother—a person who was unknown and seemingly insignificant.  We can apply the principles and power of the Jochebed anointing to our spiritual walk and pursue our own unique calling. Trust God to birth something great in you! In the same way God used Jochebed, He can use us. God uses the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty (1 Cor. 1:27). God can use us and our weakness as a platform for His glory because He chooses the insignificant people to do significant things.

Receiving and embracing the anointing

As a follower of Christ, you have access to the same anointing that Jesus Christ had. When you activate your faith, you follow in Abraham’s footsteps as noted in Romans 4: “[He] believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing….

When Jesus walked the earth, His Anointing was evident by the miracles He performed and the lives He touched. From demons to disease, no demon or evil presence could withstand the power that flowed from Jesus Christ.

Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises…” (verses 17, 20-22).

When one is staring at death, may be the threat of physical death, the death of a dream, or the death of a relationship— it can be daunting to find the strength to activate your faith. When all seems lost, this is precisely the time to activate your faith and believe that God will do exactly what He says He will do. Your faith in Christ was not meant to sit unused on a shelf, but to be living and active, working in the trenches of your life. The bottom line is, your faith works when you work your faith. Is it time to take your faith off the shelf and use it? Here are three steps that will help activate the anointing in your life.

Partnering with God’s presence (Holy Spirit) to activate the anointing daily in your lives

Mark 11:22-24 NKJV

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Let us now look at the three main ways of activating the anointing in our lives

  1. Focus on God’s Word – Spend time praying about the situation that needs God’s Anointing. Are you in need of healing? Of a relationship restoration? Of financial breakthrough? Whatever is weighing on your heart and mind, begin to mine the Word of God for scriptures that apply to your situation. Once you find them, write them out, memorize them, and set them in a place where you will see them often throughout the day, such as the background on your phone, laptop or tablet. When your thoughts drift into the lane of fear and negativity, redirect them by grabbing the wheel and focusing on the Word of God. The longer you meditate on negativity, the more opportunity for damage there is, so grab the wheel and “set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that of the earth [which have only temporal value]” (Colossians 3:1-2 AMP).
  2. Boldly express your faith – As you build your faith through feeding your mind and heart with God’s Word, (Romans 10:17), the anointing and the touch of Jesus Christ becomes activated. Look at the story of the two blind men in the Bible who cried out to Jesus, “Son of David, have mercy on us” (Matthew 9:27). They were calling Him the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One. Jesus asked the blind men if they believed He could do this miracle. He wanted to hear them speak their faith, since He knew He was anointed to give “recovering of sight to the blind” (Luke 4:18 KJV). Or consider the leper who came to Jesus and said, “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” The leper was making a faith demand on Jesus’ Anointing (Matthew 8:2-3). Expressing faith allows the anointing to flow and healing to occur. How have you expressed your faith? Have you expressed it in faith statements like those above? Have you expressed it in faith actions? Look again at Abraham’s example; he took action without knowing the whole plan. “It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith…” (Hebrews 11:8-9).
  3. Activate the anointing by walking it out every day – Walking in God’s promises is not a one-time action, but a way of life. “It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27). You walk out your faith in the words you say, in your prayers and in your conversations with others, and, like the Scripture says, by keeping your eyes on the one who is invisible. But it’s not always easy, is it? The faith journey takes effort, and an act of your will to determine to receive the promises of God. You may even empathize with the father who pleaded with Jesus to heal his demon-possessed son. His anguished, raw words may resonate today: “I do believe but help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24). The good news is, as you daily choose to look to Christ and express your faith, you are strengthened…one day at a time.

Do not allow the spirit of fear to steal your blessings

Fear is a natural response to challenges or the unknown. As Christians, we don’t need to fear because we know God is in control.

“Fear” is spoken of over 500 times in the KJV. Furthermore, in addition to the “Fear nots” many times the Bible teaches us to “Fear God,” which really means reverence God alone and do not fear anyone or anything else.

Is fear is trying to take a hold of you right now? What threat or trouble are you facing?

Regardless of the circumstances around you, God has given us the tools, knowledge, and opportunity for us to stand tall as we shine the Light of the World boldly around the globe. To do so we must get ready to do spiritual battle—You and I can begin today!

In Psalm 56, David had been seized by the Philistines and he starts to become afraid, but instead he sets his vision on the Lord in his midst of it all. He praises God and his word to him: He puts his trust in the Lord…

Here is what Psalmist David said in Psalms 56:3-4

“When I am afraid,
I will trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise,
In God I trust; I will not be afraid.
What can mortal man do to me?
